2012 -- A year in brief.

This has been quite the year.  For me, it was very unlike any other year I've had.   Lots of highs and lows, and filled with quite a few firsts, but also quite a few things I missed out on.  The thing that dominated my year was my frequent trips out to Massachusetts, and most things in my life revolved around that.

• Flew to and from Boston 14 times.
• Visited Plymouth Rock.
• Went to MIT museum.
• Went to Science Museum.
• Saw a battle reenactment at Lexington and Concord.
• Visited Harvard.
• Saw location of the Boston Massacre.
• Saw replicas of the ships for the Boston Tea Party.
• Visited Bunker Hill.
• Climbed Mount Monadnock.
• Visited Salem, MA.
• Attended the Boston temple.
• Visited Sharon, VT.  (Joseph Smith's Birthplace.)
• Visited Palmyra, NY.
• Saw the Hill Cumorah Pageant.
• Visited the Sacred Grove.
• Despite being gone all the time, I went on some fun dates.
• Though I missed out on some parties here, I had some parties while away.
• Went to a dance in Utah, one in Massachusetts, and one in New York.
• For the first time, I won at my annual Catan party.
• For the first time, I had a surprise birthday party.
• My parents celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary.
• My sister got married.
• I became an uncle for the first time.
• Cousin also had a baby.
• I had low blood iron for much of the year, so I was unable to donate blood as regularly.
• I got a flu shot for the first time.
  
• I flew first class for the first time.
  
• I had a cancelled flight for the first time.
  
• I got my final raise for completing my internship program.
  
• I paid off 50% of my house.
  
• Went to a basketball for the first time.
• I performed some anonymous random acts of service.
• While working out, I badly cut open my leg.
  
• I got 4 new games: Betrayal at House on the Hill, Alhambra, Forbidden Island, and Munchkin.
  
• I saw in theaters, Avengers, Hotel Transylvania, and Wreck-It Ralph.
  
• I saw many more movies in airplanes and hotels.
  
• I read some books, too.
• I went on vacation with only my sister, and that was a first.
• I saw a Solar Eclipse for the first time.
• I saw the Transit of Venus for the first and last time.
• I hiked King's Peak for the first time.
• I went to Bear Lake with the Singles Ward for ... the 4th year in a row...

Some things I learned this year is the importance of going to sleep on time.  I also learned how important goals are to have to motivate me.  But above all  I learned how much I love my friends!
